We are delighted to present another excellent washed coffee from Burundi! Expressive berry-like acidity and subtle florality are rounded off by elegant sweetness. Thanks to cultivation at over 2,000 metres above sea level, this Red Bourbon variety impresses with notes of redcurrant and a subtle hint of white tea.
A visit to the Heza Washing Station is like an off-road adventure. To say that Heza Washing Station is "remote" would be an understatement, and yet the community that lives in the surrounding hills is a special one, consisting mainly of coffee farmers. Heza means "beautiful place" in Kirundi, the local language of Burundi. With its panoramic view and the ever-changing East African sky, this washing station lives up to its name.
Heza is the second washing station built by Long Miles Coffee, which has been in operation since April 2014.
All our coffees are traceable back to the farm. We work exclusively with importers who share our values. Only ecologically, economically and socially sustainable coffee enters our roaster.
We always buy our coffee seasonally. Our range changes several times a month to always roast the freshest beans. We want each coffee to highlight the specificity of its terroir.
Roasting is a craft and that's how we practice it. Our roasting team around the German Roastmaster of 2018, Kilian Seger, invests a lot of time in profile development and quality control.
