  • Kenyan naturals are still a rarity – making this coffee from Sakami Farm all the more remarkable. Instead of the typical washed process common in Kenya, the hand-picked cherries are dried entirely in the fruit. This gives the coffee depth and a clear, fruit-forward profile: in filter preparation with notes of strawberry and orange blossom, in espresso with hints of sweet cherry, orange, lime, and wine gum. An impressive example of the diversity of Kenyan coffees.

  • The Sakami Farm is located at 1,800 meters above sea level in Kenya’s highlands and cultivates the varieties Ruiru 11, Batian, SL28, and K7. Under the leadership of Gloria Gummerus, a sustainable farming system is maintained here that combines ecological responsibility with social impact. Through agroforestry, coffee plants are integrated into a diverse landscape where indigenous trees are preserved, wetlands are protected, and beehives are maintained. Pesticides are avoided, and organic by-products such as coffee pulp are turned into valuable compost. The water from processing is cleaned and reused. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand to ensure the highest quality and traceability.
